In 1975 the Vietnam War has just ended and an oppressive Communist regime has seized power. This new government significantly alters Vietnamese society and severely restricts citizens' mobility, their personal rights and their freedom. All of this and more is too much to handle and causes a massive population shift as people scramble to escape their homeland by any means available to them. Pulau Bidong State of Mind is the true account of the perilous journey a woman undertakes as she seeks freedom for her family and a chance at a new life. From her life as a young girl to being one of the Vietnamese Boat People she undergoes immense hardships and numerous dangers in her journey to escape the nightmare her homeland has become in search of a new and better life.
