Comments from a Reviewer: What I appreciated about it is the accessibility. It's written in a very clear voice, actually quite easy to read considering the density of the material covered! And I also found the short chapters a welcome way to wade through the discussion. From what I can tell, it's the project of someone who is older who really wants to find a way of writing down all the wisdom and intellectual knowledge that he has acquired through his vast reading over a lifetime. I was impressed by the breadth and range of the topics. The impression I get is that the book is almost like a dictionary or a Cliff Notes to the great thinker-shortsynopses of some of the landmark philosophers and thoughts of the ages. So if you're someone who is curious about person x, y, z or school of thought x, y, z this book would be a good place to start in terms of getting a quick summary...
